In short

MILEPROOF Silicone Scar Sheets are soft, reusable silicone gel sheets worn over closed scars, for example after surgery or road rash. International scar guidelines recommend silicone sheeting for managing raised scars, worn at least 12 hours a day for two to three months once the wound has fully closed.

Where to buy: MILEPROOF Silicone Scar Sheets will be sold on Amazon US and TikTok Shop US from January 2027. It is not sold on this website.

How do silicone scar sheets work?

Crashes, falls and surgeries leave scars. Silicone gel sheeting is one of the few scar-care options with enough evidence to be recommended in international guidelines for managing raised (hypertrophic) scars.

MILEPROOF Silicone Scar Sheets are soft, self-adhesive silicone sheets that you cut to size and wear over a closed scar. They can be washed and reused.

Guidelines recommend wearing silicone for at least 12 hours a day for at least two to three months, starting once the wound has fully closed.

How do you use silicone scar sheets?

  1. Wait until the wound has fully closed: no scabs, no open areas, no stitches.
  2. Clean and dry the scar. Cut the sheet so it overlaps the scar by about 1/2 inch (1 cm).
  3. Apply the sticky side to the skin. Start with a few hours a day and build up to 12 hours or more.
  4. Wash the sheet daily with mild, oil-free soap and let it air-dry.
  5. Keep going for at least two to three months; scars change slowly.
Before you use: Do not use on open wounds, stitches or infected skin. Do not use if you are allergic to silicone. Stop if a rash develops. Ask your surgeon when it's safe to start after an operation. Keep out of reach of small children.

Questions

When can I start using silicone after surgery?

Only once the wound has fully closed and stitches are out, typically a couple of weeks after surgery. Your surgeon should confirm.

How long until I see results?

Scar changes are slow. Guidelines suggest daily use for at least two to three months, and evidence quality varies between studies, so results differ from person to person.

Will it work on old scars?

Silicone is most often used on newer, raised scars. It is low-risk to try on older scars, but expectations should be modest.
